Fri, Jan 17 2014Oil & gas recruiter Spencer Ogden has hired a cinema room on Monday for its entire London office to see The Wolf of Wall Street, Martin Scorsese’s newly released film about a Wall Street fraudster.

The film stars Leonardo Di Caprio in the role of Jordan Belfort. One of Belfort’s lines may or may not strike a chord with some recruiters: “The year I turned 26, I made $49m, which really pissed me off because it was three shy of a million a week.”

At another point in the film, he says of his staff: “I know they are knuckleheads but I need them to want to live like me.” Not a sentiment likely to appear in many recruitment company’s motivational handbooks.

Spencer Ogden’s development director, Simon Taylor, told yesterday’s Evening Standard: “The entire London office will be dressing up for the day in power Nineties suits and slick hair.”

In October Alison Mulligan, senior account manager at ERP recruiter Maximus, told Recruiter of her top 10 films must-watch films for recruiters.

We wonder whether The Wolf of Wall Street will become a favourite among recruiters.
