Agency cuts energy use but misses out on paper target

The NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (Pasa) has cut its electricity use by 21 per cent and gas by 17 per cent, according to the agency’s first annual environmental report.

The report covers the first year of operation of Pasa, an executive agency of the Department of Health.

Areas included continuous improvement, monitoring of and improvement of suppliers’ environmental activity, and consumption of utilities including water and waste management.
