Viasystems cuts jobs




Electronics manufacturer Viasystems is to cut around 850 jobs, about half the workforce at its two Tyneside plants. The company, which makes printed circuit boards for the telecoms and automotive sectors, blames the losses on the continuing downturn in the global electronics market.
