BT upgrades radio tagging system

BT has launched the second version of its Auto-ID Platform designed to support radio frequency identification (RFID) systems that track goods through the entire supply chain.

Ross Hall, chief executive of the auto-ID services division, said BT had been involved in RFID since 1994 and was testing systems with dozens of major companies.

Three firms are expected to go live with BT's technology by the end of August.
