OGC promotes new version of XML

The government's main procurement advisory body is urging purchasing departments and organisations to use a specially designed version of the XML computer language for their online activities.

The Office of Government Commerce (OGC) has completed an assessment trial of UKGOV XML that tested electronic ordering and invoicing between the pilot scheme's 25 trading partners.

These included local and central government bodies, as well as government suppliers.
