Barclays leads shortlist of 37 in purchasing awards

Thirty-seven organisations have been shortlisted for the CIPS Supply Management Awards 2004, which recognise and celebrate purchasing excellence.

In the private sector, financial services companies figure strongly, with Barclays topping the shortlist with four entries for the second year running. Rivals Abbey and Royal Bank of Scotland have been shortlisted twice, as has mobile phone operator O2.
