Troubled financial services giant Abbey has suffered two years of heavy losses. Now it's looking to its purchasing team to help it back into profit, as Gareth Mytton finds out
Turning up at a company the day after it has announced a £686 million loss can make the conversation a little awkward. But Guy Allen, director of procurement at financial services company Abbey, was clearly expecting a question on the impact the losses for 2003 had had on procurement.
