Private firms running local schools is both good and bad for agencies

This month Bradford’s education system hit the headlines when it emerged that Serco, the privately run firm that runs schools in the city, had sent headteachers from 13 schools in the area to Barbados “to help combat underachievement”.

Parents were incensed that the company that had supposedly been brought in to turn around Bradford’s failing education system...
