AIM-quoted Nakama Group says it is in preliminary discussions with two staffing industry companies about a possible offer being made for the company.

The statement from the digital technology and interactive media industry recruiter, and service provider to other professional sectors, says the potential buyers are recruitment, talent management and technology services firm, The Rethink Group, and Australian, Sydney-headquartered global IT&T recruitment company, Talent International Holdings.

Nakama Group’s share price responded positively to the news. The shares, which opened at 2.13p this morning, had traded as high as 3.9p as recruiter.co.uk went to press.

In October, Nakama Group posted stable revenue but a decline in pre-tax profit from £141k to £61k, for the half-year ended 30 September, and the company admitted it had been a ‘challenging’ period for the firm.

Under City rules, the potential buyers have until no later than 5.00pm on 19 February 2014, either to announce a firm intention to make an offer for the company or to announce that it does not intend to make an offer.
