Figures from the labour ministry of Brazil show that 118,895 new jobs were created in the country last month.

Figures from the labour ministry of Brazil show that 118,895 new jobs were created in the country last month.

While this figure is larger than had been expected, it is still 22% down on the figure for January 2011.Total new jobs in the country in 2011 was 1.94m and should exceed 2m for the current year, the labour ministry says.
