China’s State Council has approved a plan to create 45m jobs between now and 2015, in a bid to keep urban unemployment under 5%.

China’s State Council has approved a plan to create 45m jobs between now and 2015, in a bid to keep urban unemployment under 5%.
Between 2006 and 2010, 57.71m new jobs were created, according to official data, as a result of which a rural workforce of 45m people moved into new jobs.The plan also includes measures to upgrade employment regulations and workers rights.
Urban unemployment in China stands at around 4.1%.
