Yesterday (15 March) saw the opening of the 2012 graduate recruitment campaign to EU Institutions, with UK applicants particularly encouraged.
Although there are no nationality quotas or attention paid to nationality through the assessment process, according to a statement from EU-careers.eu, the personnel selection office for the bodies, along with Denmark, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands and Sweden, the UK is consistently under-represented in terms of the number of applications received.In 2010, only seven British candidates made it through to final selection for the roles, which are available in five fields: audit, communication, external relations, law and public administration.
The selection process lasts nine months, involving computer-based tests and a later assessment centre in Brussels, open to EU citizens how are either nearly-graduated or recent graduates, or professionals with at least six years’ work experience.
