Placement figures from multi-sector rec-to-rec firm McCall show to a rise in technical jobs, with the public sector hit.

Joint managing director Julie O’Neill comments: “Not surprisingly, the big increase comes from the Technical sector… now only slightly behind IT and quite probably set to overtake it this year!”The number of public sector placements more than halved year-on-year, while IT, professional services and commercial, industrial & sales all remained roughly stable.

The other big change came from recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) clients, which decreased significantly.
