The new managing director of technical recruiter CDI AndersElite in the UK says he is determined to grow the brand.

Simon Trippick, previously MD at Advantage Technical Resourcing, took up his position on 6 February, taking over as MD from Ed Zetusky, who continues to work with Trippick during a transitional period before he takes up a new position with CDI in the US in March.Trippick told Recruiter that he has two priorities: to build the CDI brand and to grow the business.

At the moment CDI, which specialises in oil & gas, aerospace, IT and high tech only has six staff in the UK. This compares with just under 100 staff, who work for built environment and rail recruiter AndersElite. However, Zetusky (right) tells Recruiter that he expects the percentage of CDI staff to grow in the next 12-18 months.

Trippick says that the growth of CDI will be based on a number of factors:

Cross-selling: “If an AndersElite client is looking for IT staff we will try to fill it from CDI.”
Taking advantage of CDI’s existing relationships with large corporates in the US. “We don’t need an introduction,” says Zetusky.
Riding the wave of growing demand for managed recruitment programmes – vendor managed services/managed service programmes (VMS/MSP) in which CDI specialises.

“In the US, 75% of all contracts are through VMS or MSPs, whereas in the UK it’s 20%, but this part of the UK market is doubling every three years,” says Trippick.

Trippick says the AndersElite brand will continue to operate much as it does now, saying: “The intention is to run the two brands in the UK. We will trade as AndersElite and as CDI focusing on the appropriate markets each are known for, but we will be operating from a single limited company.”

Zetusky takes up his new position as vice president for staffing services at CDI on 10 March, responsible for business delivery, operations and account management.
