Travel companyRabbie’s Small Group Tours is looking for 15 “big personalities” to join its 2012 season team as driver guides.
The firm is looking for people from diverse backgrounds “who want to show off their passion and pride for Scotland, rather than their academic skills”, comparing their recruitment drive to the X-Factor because of the emphasis on charisma, according to a company statement.Current employees at the firm range in age from 24 to 62 and have previous professional experience in a diverse range of jobs including accountant, radio producer, sports presenter and even a bomb disposal expert.
Rabbie’s guided over 40,000 visitors to Scotland last year.
Chief executive Robin Worsnop says: “These are intimate tours, with a maximum of 16 passengers per trip. The personalities of our driver-guides are one most important and memorable components of the Rabbie’s visitor experience.”
“Our training will take care of history, local knowledge and the PCV licence, but it is the natural passion, enthusiasm and appetite for life, that’s at the top of our job description.”
