Recruiters in the UK are the most likely to post jobs on social networks, according to a survey of 65,000 users of recruitment software provider Bullhorn.

It shows that 87% of UK recruiters post jobs to LinkedIn, compared to 86% in Canada, 85% in Australia, 84% in the US and 75% in the rest of the world. The same is the case with Twitter – the UK is the only country where 53% of recruiters post jobs on this network, compared to 48% in Australia, 44% in Canada and the US, and 28% in the rest of the world.

The picture changes slightly on Facebook, with the US leading the way with 27% of recruiters posting jobs on the network, compared to 24% in Canada and 23% apiece in the UK and Australia, and 17% elsewhere in the world.

Peter Linas, EMEA managing director of Bullhorn, says: “The results were based on the percentage of recruiters posting jobs to these networks but in order to properly maximise the potential of social media, it’s important to engage with your audience and discuss relevant industry content in order to build a quality candidate pool and get a better understanding of which contacts are suitable for particular roles.”
