INTERNATIONAL US: Employers think interns 'a must' for students

Half of US employers haven’t hired any interns in the past six months, but 91% think that students should do one or two internships before graduating, reveals a study of 225 employers from research firm Millennial Branding.

Half of US employers haven’t hired any interns in the past six months, but 91% think that students should do one or two internships before graduating, reveals a study of 225 employers from research firm Millennial Branding.

Furthermore, 87% of companies think that these internships should last at least three months.

Overall, 87% of employers are looking to hire more recent graduates than last year, with communication skills (98%), positive attitude (97%) and teamwork skills (92%) the ones most commonly seen as important or very important.

The survey also shows that 100% of employers perceive that college prepares students for the workplace.
