Multi-sector recruiter Badenoch & Clark, part of the Adecco group, saw operating profit for the year 2011 drop from £11.21m in the previous year to £9.34m.
Turnover also declined, from £211.95m to £171.21m, while staff headcount went from 392 to 345. Within this, the number of administration staff rose by 1, while the number of fee earners dropped by 48.The company’s financial report described 2011 as seeing “a challenging economic climate with low private sector growth and public sector austerity measures”.
It continues: “Despite the economic backdrop, strict cost discipline and synergies from the alignment of back office processes with group companies enabled improved profitability per revenue.”
