cube19 sets McGuire in the analytics cloud
Former Broadbean Technology managing director Dan McGuire (pictured right) has returned to the business of recruitment-focused technology behind a new visual analytics product.
One of recruitment’s best-known technology entrepreneurs, McGuire left Broadbean in 2010, two years after the leading job advertisement distribution company was sold to the Daily Mail & General Trust media group. He has since invested in and sits on the board of several technology companies but as founder of his new enterprise, cube19, he is again on the frontline.
He told Recruiter that at Broadbean’s sale, he most looked forward to “going back to the start of something… For me, the start-up stage is the most exciting time because everything moves so quickly”.
Cube19 aims to bring cloud-based business intelligence and predictive analytics to the global small- to medium-sized enterprise (SME) market. It uses what McGuire refers to as “strength-based individualisation” to focus attention on how future performance might be improved.
With analytic capabilities currently a top technology priority for global businesses, demand for such products can weather good or bad economic conditions, McGuire acknowledged.
“It’s one of the few industries that’s growing consistently,” he said. “In a good market, you use analytics to help you accelerate growth. In a tight market, you use it to squeeze a bit more out of whatever you’ve currently got and to derive more value from whatever your existing assets are.”
Cube19 went into development last September and the first implementation has just been completed. “It’s been fairly quick, for what we’ve built,” he said.
