Spherion Europe has made a number of top directors redundant in a restructuring operation. Sally Wells, the former MD of secretarial subsidiary Crone Corkill, lost her job, as did operations director of Spherion’s Management Solutions business Jackie Campbell.

Spherion’s decision to ‘streamline’ its European operations and make Wells redundant was ‘not to do with her performance’, a spokesperson for the company told Professional Recruiter. Kate Tregoning, currently MD of financial subsidiary FSS, will take on the role of managing director UK operations. She will be responsible for all recruitment in the UK including FSS, Crone Corkill and Spherion IT Recruitment.

Commenting on the restructuring decision, managing director of Spherion Europe Aled Morris said: ‘I believe by combining recruitment operations together under one managing director and by centralising support function we will have a very strong structure in place to expand the business in the UK and Europe.’ Morris will take direct responsibility for the Managed Solutions Business.

HR, marketing and finance functions will also be centralised.
