Golley Slater's Recruitment Advertising division has pledged to plant a tree for every candidate they place in a business or organisation.

The candidate will also receive a certificate and unique number so they can identify their tree and watch it grow.

Dan Jolley (pictured), head of Golley Slater Executive Search, says: "This environmental initiative is a good fit with what we do as standard for those seeking employment. Talented people and trees have a lot in common.

 "They both need nurturing, support in their early years, room to grow and someone to care for them. Also, if they're cared for properly, they give a lot back".

This practice was one of the key factors behind Horizon Recruitment winning the Gold Award at the Recruiter 2007 Awards for Excellence.
