Anderson new MSB non-exec

Sarah Anderson joins board of IT firm

The listed IT staffing firm MSB has appointed Recruiter award winner Sarah Anderson CBE as its non-executive director.

Anderson is currently chief executive of the catering company Mayday Group and was formerly chair of the Federation of Recruitment and Employment Services (FRES), the Recruitment and Employment Confederation’s predecessor. Although she has sat on many company boards, this is Anderson’s first appointment to the board of a listed company.

She told Recruiter: “It is indicative of MSB that they are not just looking for board members who have experience of plcs. They are being more open-minded about this. I believe I will be able to bring experience of a whole lot of different factors that affect the recruitment industry. MSB is a great company with young people who are very dynamic.”

Anderson is also a non-executive director of the work-life balance consultancy Flexecutive and the government’s Jobcentre Plus.

Anderson founded Mayday 18 years ago and received a CBE for services to training and enterprise. She won the prestigious Gary Clark Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Recruitment Profession in the Recruiter Awards for Excellence 2004.

MSB has also bought technology agency Elite Computer Staff for £1.25m, with a further maximum cash payment of £200,000.

MSB’s interim results revealed the firm made pre-tax profits of £272,000 in the six months ended in July 2004, a 200% increase on the same period last year.
