Providing information on geographical expansion should be at the heart of the Association of Technology Staffing Companies' future, ATSCo's chief executive told Recruiter.
Ann Swain said in an exclusive interview that member companies branching out to the EU could be a "real growth area" for ATSCo, with the provision of information key.
"Our plans are to extend the vista of ATSCo from being UK-orientated to having a broader focus covering Europe, and indeed worldwide," Swain told Recruiter. She added that she was particularly looking at companies which were looking to establish a presence abroad, saying that members in the engineering sector, in particular, were looking "further afield" due to skills shortages in this country.
Swain also confirmed that Computer People had rejoined ATSCo, and CBSbutler had joined from the engineering sector.
Details of ATSCo's 2007 Members Conference have also been announced. The event, which will have the theme of 'achieving consistent peak performance', will take place on 26 June in Moorgate, London. One of the speakers will be mountaineer Jo Gambi, part of the first married couple to climb the 'Seven Summits' — the highest peaks on all seven continents, and ski to the North and South Poles.
