Blue Arrow Catering sells sectors low boredom rating

Catering specialist highlights survey results as reason to join sector

Blue Arrow Catering says recent survey results which reveal that catering has one of the lowest boredom ratings is a wake-up call to those sidelining it as a career and to graduates that there opportunities on offer.

The recruiter’s comments follow the results of the Training and Development Agency for Schools Workforce Boredom Index which noted changing attitudes amongst graduates. It found that the careers most prized during student days such as advertising, journalism and law often turn out to be the least appetising long-term. Whilst the hospitality and travel trades recorded an overall boredom factor of less than 40%, compared to administrative, manufacturing and sales-based roles which had a boredom factor of more than 70%.

Managing director Nick Gourley says: “These results come as absolutely no surprise to us on the basis of our own personal experiences in the industry and the continued positive feedback we get from our workers on the sheer variety of catering assignments and the job satisfaction they derive.”

Blue Arrow Catering says it continues to work to promote the industry and encourage new blood to enter it.
