Bosses feeling the work strain

Survey reveals work-life imbalance

UK managers are “running on empty” and this is creating a negative environment in which to work, according to a survey by the Chartered Management Institute and recruitment firm Adecco.

Almost half have missed family or social commitments because they had too much work on, while 41% work over 14 hours a week more than they are contracted to.

Not surprisingly, the majority of UK managers would welcome greater flexibility in the way they work, according to the survey. But less than 10% are optimistic that these forms of working will be introduced in the next three years.
