Lesley Strathie has been appointed chief executive of Jobcentre Plus.

Strathie had been acting chief executive since David Anderson’s departure in May this year and was formerly the organisation’s chief operating officer.

She will report directly to Sir Richard Mottram, permanent secretary, and will take the post immediately.

Strathie said: “I am delighted to accept the job and look forward to continuing to take forward what is a great organisation.”
