REC's diversity tools
Private and public sector recruiters are set to benefit from a new diversity ‘toolkit’ created by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and Jobcentre Plus to tackle discrimination.
The initiative features an online system which assesses whether or not recruiters are compliant in their diversity policies, and generates an action plan to assist employers in improving their diversity procedures.
“This will signal to employers how positively the recruitment industry is responding to
the challenge of placing diversity at the heart of the recruitment process,” said Lesley Strathie, acting chief executive of Jobcentre Plus.
REC deputy chief executive Marcia Roberts added: “This will allow companies not only to demonstrate compliance but to have aspirational targets that are achievable.”
