A complaint made against a job advert placed by double glazing firm Safestyle UK has not been upheld by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
A complaint made against a job advert placed by double glazing firm Safestyle UK has not been upheld by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
The complainant had challenged as to whether the job advert was genuine.
Safestyle UK said nine people had successfully secured a job offer for the sales and marketing vacancies and subsequently attended an induction course. The firm also supplied details of the people who were offered driving, warehouse and clerical positions.
Safestyle UK said they did not place job ads to elicit contact details. They were unable to explain why the complainant had been unsuccessful or why she had not received a return call.
The ASA investigated the ad under CAP Code clauses 3.1 (Substantiation), 7.1 (Truthfulness) and 52.2 (Employment and business opportunities) but did not find it in breach and noted that the evidence Safestyle had sent demonstrated that people had been recruited to all the types of position listed in the ad.
The ASA also noted that the successful job applicants had not in all cases responded to the ad but concluded that, because the vacant roles listed in the ad had subsequently been filled, the ad had corresponded to genuine vacancies and the offers of work were, therefore, genuine.
