The bonus pot in banking and finance institutions is not equally divided, according to new research from finance staffing specialist Robert Half and the ICAEW.
The research, of ACA-qualified accountants working in the banking and capital markets sector, reveals the median annual bonus was £16,000, much lower than what was reported for front of house professionals within the sector. Just 9% of respondents earned over £100,000 in bonus remuneration.
Meanwhile, an additional survey of chief financial officers (CFOs) within financial services shows 42% of CFOs plan to increase the bonuses of their finance and accountancy staff within H1, and 56% plan to maintain current levels.
When asked by how much, 43% expect to increase bonuses by 5-6%, while 29% anticipate increasing bonuses by 7-10% on current levels.
