BIS petitions to have recruiters liquidated

The Department of Business (BIS) is petitioning the High Court to have seven medical recruiters in the West Midlands put into compulsory liquidation in the public interest.

The Department of Business (BIS) is petitioning the High Court to have seven medical recruiters in the West Midlands put into compulsory liquidation in the public interest.

A provisional liquidator was appointed on 30 July to the companies after a petition was presented in the High Court by the department of Business to wind up the firms.

The seven companies include First Call Publications, Mode Enterprises, and Reload recruitment, all based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.

The other four companies, based in Whitnash (an area of Leamington Spa) are; Community Care  Jobs Line, BMJ UK, Nursing Today, and Nursing Tomorrow.

The case is due to be heard on 17 September.

A  spokesperson for the Insolvency Services told Recruiter that previous cases in the town within the past 18 months, had seen a number of recruitment companies put into voluntary liquidation for misrepresenting the services they actually provided, and that subsequently they had gone into compulsory liquation.
