Audit and compliance professionals in London predict their bonuses will be 38% lower than last year’s, according to executive search consultancy firm GRS.
The survey shows that 36% were not expecting a bonus, 18% predicted no change, while 64% anticipate a lower bonus than last year.
Rowan Crooks, consultant, GRS Compliance, says: “It’s bad out there – even in supposedly safe sectors like audit. People are expecting their bonuses to be much lower and a huge proportion don’t expect to get one at all this year.
“Auditors are under siege. Just this week we found out the Commons Treasury Committee is recommending bank auditors face tougher restrictions on offering non-audit services. – and that auditors be banned from undertaking non-audit work for financial institution clients.”
