Buckinghamshire County Council and multi-sector recruiter Hays have combined to introduce a system for jobseekers, aimed at improving the applicant experience and saving the council £690,000 in its first year.

The new recruitment service will:

  • facilitate easier job searches and applications county council using online recruitment
  • cut application time applications take to process and keep applicants in touch with progress
  • build a talent pool of quality applicants who have expressed an interest in working for the council, to enable managers match the right people to the right jobs.

County council recruitment staff have joined Hays consultants to build the team to provide the streamlined one-stop-shop for permanent and temporary staff.

Alistair Cox, chief executive of Hays, says: “The partnership is an innovative way of recruiting and will allow Buckinghamshire County Council to lead the way nationally. It will be more time and cost efficient and will provide a better service for job seekers – all critical factors in such challenging times.”
