Candidates fail to research_2

Office workers admit they should do more research before going to job interviews

More than half of office workers admit they could know more about the companies they apply to before they go for a job interview, according to a poll by OfficeTeam, a recruiter of administrative personnel.

The poll also reveals that 16% of candidates say they have little knowledge of the company they are being interviewed by and 7% say they have no knowledge at all. Victoria Sprott, regional director for OfficeTeam, says: “It is particularly worrying to see the results of this recent poll which show that the majority of candidates go into interview situations under prepared. Being armed with an in-depth understanding of both the business and the industry in which they operate is the best way to develop rapport and demonstrate your value to prospective employers.”

The survey shows that 22% say they are adequately prepared and feel they know enough when going into a job interview.
