Welfare-to-work charity Careers Development Group (CDG) is on the lookout for volunteers with HR or recruitment, or job interview experience to teach jobseekers IT skills, help with CV writing or help people who do not have a good understanding of English.
CDG delivery centres across London are looking for people who, through their own experience of the job market and finding work, could support individual jobseekers giving advice and encouragement on their journey back to employment.
The charity is looking for people who are:
· enthusiastic about sharing their skills and career experience with local people in London
· interested in helping others find and stay in employment, and
· keen to develop their coaching and mentoring skills.
Rebecca Green, national volunteering manager at Careers Development Group, says: “This is an exciting new project which will add to the range of services which we already offer to jobseekers on their journey towards work. Volunteers, by giving their time and experience, will help to make more people successful in their efforts to move off benefits and into work.
“The rewards, for jobseekers, for volunteers and for London could be great.”
