Carlisle Group has acquired Chadwick Nott (Holdings) Limited and its subsidiaries, for an initial consideration of £2m comprising cash and loan notes.

Founded in 1992, Chadwick Nott is a UK legal recruitment specialist and provides qualified and part-qualified lawyers together with paralegals through offices in London, Bristol and Birmingham.  The acquired businesses reported annual sales of £3.2m, pre-tax profits of £325k and net assets of £160k for the year ended 31 December, 2005.

Richard Bradford, Carlisle Group's chief executive, said: “The addition of Chadwick Nott complements our increasing presence in the professional and executive Staffing sector and our existing client base that includes national and international law firms, regional private and commercial law firms and local industry leaders.”
