Recruitment trainers are being asked to “put their money where their mouth is” in a new scheme which aims to pit providers against each other to see which can have the greatest impact on performance.

Operational and strategy recruiter, ChapmanBlack, wants to shortlist three different companies to train three teams, linking remuneration to results over a six-month period.

Ezra Chapman, the company’s chief executive, told Recruiter the winner would be taken on to train staff on a long-term basis. Recruiter will feature the winner in future editions.

During the initial stages the training firms would be paid a fixed-day rate and then get a percentage of any increase in gross profit for the division.

“We want to create a unique commercial model, a controlled environment to incentivise sustained results and determine the ‘real’ value of external training,” said Chapman, adding the company’s investment in external trainers has stagnated because of a lack of “effective follow-up” and “ambiguity in measuring results”.

Chapman is inviting training companies to tender for the initiative over the next few weeks. Enquiries should be sent to [email protected]
