Hard work needs to be combined with the ability to measure successful recruitment through results, according to Harrods, multi-award winners at the Recruiter Awards for Excellence, supported by Innovate CV.
At last week’s award ceremony, Harrods picked up the awards for Best Candidate Experience, Most Effective Recruitment Strategy and Best Employee Referral Strategy.
In the Best Employee Referral Strategy, Harrods was recognised for its work with external creative media partner Pink Squid, which worked with the luxury retailer to re-focus current employees’ attention to referring friends and relatives who were of the same quality and calibre as themselves, rather than a volume of referrals with the expectation of financial reward. The result has meant that though referrals have gone down, the ratio of applications to hires have increased.
