Debtors get 30 days’ breathing space

Debtors will be given 30 days’ breathing space, following a deal struck between the Credit Service Association (CSA), which represents debt agencies and the government.
Debtors will be given 30 days’ breathing space, following a deal struck between the Credit Service Association (CSA), which represents debt agencies and the government.
The 30-day rule comes into force once a debt agency has been informed of a case being referred to an accredited debt adviser.
The rule is being written into the code of conduct of the CSA’s 300 members and can be extended for a futher 30 days.
