Due to uncertainties around nuclear energy and the transition to non-carbon based technologies, demand for oil & gas sector professionals is likely to hold up, according to Nick Parry, partner at oil & gas recruiter Inception Partners.
Parry told Recruiter: “The future of the sector is dependant on its transition to non-carbon based technologies.
However he adds: “Nuclear is unloved because of the incident in Japan. Germany is now closing its nuclear power stations and Siemens is pulling out of the nuclear power industry. So you could say there will still be a big demand on oil & gas.”
