With the Jobcentre Plus website set to close on Wednesday, jobseekers will be able to access thousands of job vacancies previously found on the Jobcentre Plus by logging onto Directgov from Thursday (1 April).
Website vacancies will now reach a wider audience with jobseekers able to search for jobs using Digital TV, Virgin and Sky, Mobile Phones and the new teletext service on Freeview.
Employers must now access the Employer Direct online service via businesslink.gov.uk to upload vacancies.
Darra Singh, chief executive of Jobcentre Plus, says: “The Jobcentre Plus database is the largest jobs database in Europe and receives over a million job searches every working day. Directgov, Jobcentre Plus and Businesslink have been working together to make sure that people looking for a job can find what they need via Directgov, which is fast and easy to navigate.”
