Dixon heads Sheffield Hallam Uni HR team

Yorkshire-based Sheffield Hallam University has announced the promotion of Phillip Dixon to HR director, after holding an interim position with the university since 2008.

As one of his first tasks in this new role, Dixon will be responsible for concluding the review of the current HR service and structure to improve services to better support the university in delivering the aims in its corporate plan.

Dixon said: “I am delighted to be able to take on such a demanding and rewarding role. I have worked at the university for seven years now and am always pleased to see the dedication and commitment that people bring to their role.”

Zeva, an umbrella and subcontracting company specialising in the construction, engineering driving, teaching and IT sectors, consolidates its senior team with the creation of a sales director role. Matthew Partridge who joined Zeva earlier in the year, bringing with him a portfolio of 10 years’ business development experience working with some of the largest FTSE 100 companies across the UK, becomes the new sales director.

 

Belgium-based international search firm, Borderless Executive Search, has appointed Omar Shamma to lead its executive search activities in the Middle East. Located in Dubai, Shamma has held senior management roles in several multinational companies in the chemicals and construction products industries.

US-based retained technology and manufacturing executive search firm The Onstott Group has appointed Randy Cyr as a managing director. With more than 15 years of executive search experience, Cyr has completed hundreds of executive search assignments with particular focus in the technology, life sciences and industrial sectors.

Interim management consultancy Alium Partners has appointed two new senior executives to its public sector practice. Gemma Martin, consultant, will lead the practice’s education and third sector division, working with organisations including charities, not-for-profit entities and social enterprises. Les Uttley, consultant, will focus on defence and public sector corporations.

Berkeley Scott, part of the Kellan Group, has appointed Simon Tucker-Brown to head up the re-established isis brand. Isis is an executive and board-level search practice that deals with senior appointments within the hospitality and leisure industries. The development of the isis division will enable Berkeley Scott to extend its client portfolio from its core business of mainly operational staff, chefs and general management.

 

Australian recruiter Ambition has announced that James Ash has joined its UK subsidiary, Witan Jardine as managing director of its finance & accountancy business. Ash is responsible for the development of the UK finance and accountancy business, while growing strong existing relationships within the accountancy, legal, property and media sectors.



Ben Pepper has been chosen to be a researcher in PiR Group’s specialist in-house team. In the 14 October issue of Recruiter, it was implied that PiR Group was a joint venture with PiR Interims. However, this is not the case and the two companies are entirely separate entities.

Recruitment-to-recruitment consultancy, Red Ventures, has appointed Daniel Gostelow to launch a new division specialising within the London investment banking and financial services’ rec-to-rec sector.

International recruiter Hays has announced the return of Mark Staniland as divisional managing director of Hays HR and related services in the UK. Following a brief spell with Healthcare Locums earlier this year, Staniland will lead Hays’ HR recruiting division.

Multi-sector recruiter Concept Staffing has appointed Rosie Morris as manager for its Exeter branch, having worked for Concept for five years as manager of its largest branch in Tiverton.
