Eden Scott is “very optimistic” on job prospects in the oil & gas sector due to increased hiring activity across the North Sea, EMEA and Australia, according James Milne, head of the  Scottish multi-sector staffing specialist’s Aberdeen business.

Eden Scott says that activity in the North Sea remains solid, while there has been sustained growth in overseas markets such as Africa, the Middle East and Australia, as well as growth in renewable energy.

Milne says: “We have started 2011 on an extremely upbeat note. We are very optimistic about job prospects in the UK and international oil & gas sector in the next 12 months and beyond.

“We recognise from communicating with our clients that we must prepare for an extremely buoyant year. Almost every client we operate with is preparing to increase its workforce substantially. We are already witnessing skills shortages within specific areas of the market in light of this.”
