Eight in 10 Irish professionals willing to change jobs

Eight in 10 Irish professionals would consider changing job, according to research from accountancy and finance recruiter Robert Walters.

The survey of more than 500 Irish professionals shows that 39% of those surveyed were actively looking for a new role and 41% say they could be tempted by the right post and salary. Just 17% are unwilling to move. The remaining 3% surveyed were unemployed.

Louise Campbell, managing director of Robert Walters Ireland, says: “The fact that 80% of Irish professionals are either actively looking for a new opportunity or would consider moving for the right role and salary varies hugely from the employee sentiment of 2009.

“This time last year job retention and stability were of great concern to all employees and employee movement was low. Professionals who were able to retain their jobs in the downturn were often not looking to change roles, even when an opportunity arose.”
