Employers make graduates suffer over their choice of university_2

Study finds graduates would change university in order to have higher regard with potential employers

More than 20% of graduates would not chose the same university again because of the poor reputation it has with employers, according to a study by Graduate Recruitment Bureau.

The study found that the disappointed graduates suspected that they are being deselected when applying for jobs based on their university’s ranking in the various league tables.

Dan Hawes, GRB co-founder, says: “This underlines how important it is to not only chose the right course but the right university. The job market is so competitive nowadays plus recruiters are spending more resources identifying the best graduates so every part of your CV really counts.”

Meanwhile 77% of graduates said they would go to the same university again because of the excellent support they received from staff, and because they made lots of good friends and their courses were interesting.
