Expansion boosts turnover

Moves into the US, Australia, China and South-East Asia have helped boost Empresaria’s turnover to £54m, up 19% on 2004.
Chairman Tony Martin said the year was “in line with our strategy to develop an international specialist staffing group with revenues distributed over a range of economies, emerging markets and industry sectors”.

Martin, also chairman of Blue Arrow owner Corporate Services Group, said he was exploring a “number of opportunities” in countries where Empresaria does not currently operate. The company is now in eight countries, including the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Pre-tax profit rose to £1.6m, from £742,000. The firm said the strong trading had continued into 2006.

Revenue from construction and property services rose 11% to £27.5m, boosted by its FastTrack division, which hopes to gain from contracts associated with the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Empresaria also highlighted the success of other UK units. Greycoat Placements, a provider of staff such as housekeepers and chauffeurs,  “continues to consolidate its position as the UK’s principal domestic recruitment brand”. McCall, a recruitment-to-recruitment firm, “took advantage of positive trading conditions” and established new revenue streams in the areas of senior management recruitment and introductory brokerage for the sale and purchase of staffing companies.
