Exclusive: ASWEB to become REC sector group for social work

The Association of Social Work Employment Busineses (ASWEB) is set to become the official REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) sector group for social work within the next few weeks.

The Association of Social Work Employment Busineses (ASWEB) is set to become the official REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) sector group for social work within the next few weeks.

Tom Hadley, REC director of external relations, told Recruiter the REC was still in discuusions with ASWEB, but he didn’t see “any major obstacles.” Hadley says the creation of new sector groups, of which this will be the first, will help the REC speak with a strong voice.”

Andrew Thorne, chairman of ASWEB told Recruiter: “The benefits for ASWEB is we are part of the larger REC family. The benefits to the REC is ASWEB’s dedication to raising standards in social work recruitment.”

Hadley expects an  announcment will be made “in the next a few weeks.”
