Facebook has attracted 100m visitors in Europe, according to figures from comScore.

comScore’s findings show that Facebook now has 275m visitors and its visits in Europe have jumped by 314%.

The figures also show that a year ago, Facebook usage accounted for 1.1% of all minutes spent online in Europe, but by February 2009 that number had risen to 4.1% of all minutes.

Lucian Tarnowski, founder and chief executive at candidate and client networking site BraveNewTalent.com, which recently integrated its service into Facebook, told Recruiter: “Facebook’s growing popularity in Europe highlights its usefulness for recruiting from a wider geographical talent pool, regardless of country of origin or role.

“People are spending less time on fewer job boards than in previous years but choosing to dwell longer inside ‘entertainment’ networks like Facebook, meaning that if recruiters don’t engage via these social channels, they probably can’t deliver the best range of candidates to their clients.”
