Fraudster’s father cleared of conspiracy to defraud
12 September 2012
The father of convicted fraudster Tim Baker was cleared of a charge of conspiracy to defraud on Friday (31 July).
Alan Baker, of Lydbury North, Shropshire, was found not guilty following a two-week trial at Southwark Crown Court. Baker was accused of taking part in an invoice factoring fraud involving two recruitment companies, Lincolnshire-based Allied Staff Management and Revo Recruitment, of West Sussex, for four months in early 2008.
A retrial has been ordered on another charge of conspiracy to money launder, after the jury was unable to reach a verdict.
In May, Timothy Baker was sentenced to six years imprisonment at Southwark Crown Court for his involvement in frauds costing more than £700,000.
