IT recruiter Eurobase International, which also does software engineering for the banking and insurance sectors, often looks to the continent for candidates. Business development manager Richard West says the firm has a number of consultants on its books who can speak more than one language.

"The candidates, particularly those who work with SAP business delivery software, can be hard to find, so we have consultants who can speak a number of European languages," West told Recruiter. Eurobase has about 40 staff and a turnover of £16.5m to the end of 2006.

Eurobase established its recruitment division four years ago, initially just to recruit in-house, but now has offices in London, Birmingham and Chelmsford.
