Popi Galani told Recruiter that all the previous red tape such as Criminal Record Bureau checks, and checking references were still in place. However, she says that in addition, the government advised recruiters to carry an annual visual check on the travel documentation of workers from abroad who registered since February 2008. Galani predicts that while this was currently only advice, she expects this to become law at some stage.
